ABOUT SALISHAN

Gary and Susan Carr have owned and exhibited Tibetan Terriers since 1975 and are proudly breeding Salishan Tibetan Terriers  for forty-five years, since 1979.  The Carrs are AKC Platinum Breeders of Merit whose kennel has produced some of the top show dogs in the country and internationally. The Carr's dogs have earned over 350 AKC Championships and Obedience titles. Our daughter, Kristen Carr, has always been actively involved in our breeding program.

The Salishan Tibetans have descended from a combination of several of the great Lamleh and Luneville dogs, and their pedigrees now show eleven generations of Salishan Champions with titles from all over the world. Their breeding stock is DNA tested and OFA certified for hips and eyes.

If you were to visit the Salishan dogs,  you would be able to meet many of the descendants of our home bred Am/Can CH Salishan Tessie Tukra, ROM, mother of seventeen champions. Many Salishan Tibetan Terriers who have been listed in the AKC Top Ten Tibetan Terriers over the years are also in residence.

The Carrs and Salishan Tibetan Terriers represented the Non-Sporting Group at the AKC National Dog Show in 2016. An English champion bred by the Carrs and co-owned with Pat Tempest was the top producer of champions in the Utility Group in 2017 and 2018 in England.

 

Best In Show (BIS) Winning GCH Salishan My Special Angel ROM, "Mika", the #1 Tibetan Terrier in 2011 and 2012 lived in the best of all worlds - establishing a lineage of beautiful championship puppies and then spending her retirement on fenced acreage as a beloved member of the family. The  Salishan "Little People" will happily greet you at the door. They all look forward to introducing you to this wonderful breed of dog.
